More than bums on seats: Australian participation in the arts

This study was conducted for the Australia Council for the Arts' Research & Strategic Analysis section by instinct and reason. It paints a comprehensive picture of how Australians participate in the arts today and helps us to better understand audiences and identifies the barriers and incentives which impact on their participation. The research has since been extended by Arts Queensland, in partnership with the Australia Council, to delve deeper into Queensland's engagement in and attitude towards the arts. The research data has also been analysed further to segment the different locations in Queensland, with each Queensland region having their own summary. For a copy of the full report.
