These suggestions, an initiative of the Queensland Touring Services, aim to assist artists and companies applying for funding and embarking upon a tour through regional and remote Queensland.

The initial planning followed by the application process and associated challenges and preparations required to tour, can be quite daunting.  Even the very experienced producer can face uncertainties associated with changes to Queensland communities, venues and contacts. To assist with these challenges, the guidelines will continually be updated on-line to provide on-going assistance and advice for artists, companies and groups seeking to tour their work to Queensland communities.

Touring tips

A list of tips to assist producers and presenters interested in touring has been developed.  They contain basic but important suggestions that should be considered when applying to tour or to present a work as part of a tour. 

Touring produces a multiplicity of reactions, emotions and anecdotes from presenters, producers and those “on the road”.  The touring service encourages constructive contributions and feedback from all producers and presenters willing to share their experiences.

Who is the producer?
The producer is the company or artist who has developed a performing arts work and offered the work for touring.
Tips for Producers

Who is the presenter?
Presenters are community organisations including but not limited to performing arts venues, Local Arts Councils, schools, tertiary educations, libraries, galleries, museums, hotels, service and sporting clubs interested in hosting a performing arts activity.
Tips for Presenters

The touring service welcomes any enquiries on the application process.
