Come on a mystical and musical journey from Catholic medieval Germany through France’s secular Renaissance to the beloved folk music of the British Isles. Be enchanted by Hildegard of Bingen’s haunting hymns to nature and the divine; tap your foot to the quirky rhythms and humour of French courtly love, and be uplifted by the earthy spirit of Irish, Scottish and English folk melodies. To lead you on this journey will be the effervescent Kim Kirkman on celtic harp, violin, viola, drums, Tibetan bowls, Mongolian overtone singing and a warm tenor voice, accompanied by the ethereal tones of Amanda Cole’s mezzo-soprano voice and the folk psaltery.
Kirkman and Cole are seasoned performers, together offering a wealth of variety and depth of experience and understanding of instruments, languages, drama, repertoire and genres. Recent audience feedback: We were all, quite frankly, enraptured which seems a wholly appropriate response to the music of a visionary. We absolutely loved Amanda Cole and were bowled over by the quality and purity of her voice. Kim's bardic singing and playing were also wonderful. The instrument Amanda played added a period dimension that was very effective, and the lighting helped create a very special atmosphere.

A live acoustic makes for a particularly special effect. The show can be performed in any kind of venue, but a very resonant acoustic will enhance the sound and add to the atmosphere of the show.
We aim to entertain, inspire and educate an audience, which may include everyone from the general public from amateur music lovers to professional musicians. The aim is for the audience to experience music in a way that is direct, dramatic, communicative and uplifting. As performers our ultimate goal is to reveal the genius of the composer and the marvels of their creation and to offer a glimpse of humanity and human-ness not previously experienced. What is behind the music that can inspire and uplift our human experience and purpose?

Unique Selling Point
From a recent performance of this show (15 October 2017), one audience member wrote: We all loved your use of the singing bowl as well as the harp, and the throat-singing drone. It was very unusual (for us anyway) and seemed to hit the mark in combination with Amanda’s ethereal tones. Having her sing from the upper level was a magical idea and worked exceptionally well.
Thank you so much for bringing this unique experience to Maleny. I imagine it would be a rarity anywhere, and it is extra special to have it right here at home.

"We were all, quite frankly, enraptured which seems a wholly appropriate response to the music of a visionary," said one audience member in conversation to another. "We absolutely loved Amanda Cole and were bowled over by the quality and purity of her voice." To be enraptured and bowled over seems to be the principal benefit of experiencing such a show. To be educated, into the bargain, about the fascinating twists and turns music and thought took across the ages and across the continent and Anglo-Celtic isles, is a further bonus.
