Strategic Touring Models for a Highly Networked State
Karilyn Brown reveals how highly networked venues and artists can benefit from tested touring models, such as Blak Lines, Roadworks and Mobile States, without having to reinvent the wheel.
Karilyn Brown was CEO of Performing Lines from 2013-2018, securing recurrent federal and state government funding, established a philanthropic program, and managed the strategic realignment of the company through new modelling and sector development initiatives. Immediately prior to her appointment, Karilyn had been the General Manager of the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture (IFACCA) from 2009. Karilyn’s career has included 20 years with the Australia Council, including as Deputy Director, Visual Arts and Crafts Board (1988-1994) and as Executive Director, Arts Development (2001-2009), and worked on several major international projects including the Venice Biennale and the Australian Indigenous Art Commission in Paris.
