A big thanks to all of the producers who joined us for the first Producer Touring Forum at the Judith Wright Centre on 28 October 2014. It was a cracker of an afternoon and we already can't wait to do it again!

It was a full house of producers and artists who came to learn more about what it means to tour around Queensland, meet other producers, receive some professional development and get a sense of what presenters are looking for as we prepare for next year’s Queensland Touring Showcase.

Our invited experts generously offered their assistance on matters regarding marketing, budgeting, community engagement and pitching to presenters. A big thanks to Sam Cook, Jo Thomas and Jennifer Cook.

We also want to acknowledge the tremendous contribution of our panel of presenters who provided some insight into the decision making that goes into programming for managed venues and communities event calendars. Another big thanks to Malcolm Calder, Anita Freed, Zane Trow and Ross Loughton.

Finally the event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Arts Queensland and the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Art whose contribution allowed us to make this a free event.

If you’re kicking yourself for not being there, rest assured that most of the resources featured at the Touring Forum are now available on the arTour website.

We’re looking forward to chatting with more of you as you begin preparing submissions for Showcase.  There are only a couple of weeks left before it closes so please get in touch if you have any questions.
