Throwing caution to the wind, three delectable divas open their diaries to reveal scintillating secrets and marvellous memoir. Having last year wowed audiences with their tale of struggle and frustration in their quest for stardom on the musical theatre stage, the ladies have decided it’s time to step up to success. In fact, it’s possible that success may have gone to their heads!

Kicking struggle street to the kerb, throwing off the shackles of self-doubt and embracing their divine diva potential to the limit, they are set to give audiences more of what they want in their (almost) brand new show: The Diva Diaries. There might be too many sopranos in town but the ladies are not going to let that stand in their way.

This hilarious cabaret features everything from well-loved classics to original music theatre, from Elphaba to the Three Little Maids. The show received rave reviews when first presented in 2017, with audience members calling it “highly entertaining" and “beyond fabulous”.

The Diva Diaries markets as a light-hearted and entertaining social night out, guaranteed to bring laughs. The show incorporates everything from well-known opera and music theatre to new comic works and hilarious parodies, all underpinned by exceptional vocals and humorous dialogue. Get to know the divas as they open their diaries and let audiences into the secret, unexpected and often irritatingly funny world of show business. This glimpse into the normally unknown (and unglamorous) world of life 'beneath the stage' is what appeals to audiences, along with the opportunity to get to know each character and their struggles and successes.

Resources currently available include a marketing kit with marketing copy, social media materials, print material templates and images. From September, promotional footage will be available. Too Many Sopranos are happy to undertake any media and other promotional engagements, subject to the tour schedule.

Community Engagement

Too Many Sopranos offers a range of workshops and master classes in conjunction with the performances, designed to engage with the target audience/demographic (community and school choirs, young and beginning singers, musical societies). These can be tailored to suit the community and include preparing for auditions and eisteddfods, confidence on stage, vocal techniques and choral/ensemble singing. Workshops will be presented in a relaxed and supportive environment and will provide participants with access they don't normally have to experienced performers. It is hoped that these activities will bring community members together and build a stronger connection between artist and audience. There is the potential for workshop participants to join the performers on stage for the last song of the show.

WORKSHOP #1 Vocal Workshop: Fake it ‘Til You Make it. Designed to help beginner to intermediate singers develop stage presence and self-assurance in their craft.

WORKSHOP #2 Vocal Masterclass: Success on Stage. Intermediate to advanced singers will practise vocal and breathing techniques through group exercises and the art of effective song choices.

WORKSHOP #3 United in Voice – choral/ensemble singing. Work as a group to learn ensemble skills such as following the conductor, breathing together, part learning and matching vowel sounds.
