An entertaining history lesson about Australia's most famous song "Waltzing Matilda" performed by accomplished musical performers and a renowned bush poet accompanied by two musicians. It is a fully choreographed narrative in a simple set which tells the story of the secret love affair between Banjo Paterson and Christina Macpherson as they wrote Waltzing Matilda, based on Warrnambool resident, Dennis O'Keeffe's ground breaking research, published in a book by Allen and Unwin , Waltzing Matilda - The Secret Story of Australia's Favourite Song which was originally designed to be presented in alternative venues like shearing sheds and community halls.

Community Engagement

In the three years that the show has toured regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland (Winton), the cast has observed its potential to bind and involve a regional or bush community like few other shows. The response of our audiences has been to enjoy the show “as if they belong to it, and it belongs to them.”
